ThePeak150Vista Radio has its collective fingers and toes crossed ahead of this weekend’s Community &  Business Awards in Smithers, B.C.

The Peak is one of three finalists in the running to be named Business of the Year.

“This nomination is a reflection of everyone in the building,” said Station Manager J.C. Brown. “The employees’ involvement in the community and their love for what they do, day in and day out, has translated into the great product on air. Everyone should be proud.”

Brown has himself scored a nomination, once again up for Business Person of the Year.

“I feel honored to be a finalist for the Business Person of the year. Being nominated by the clients we deal with daily is very special. It makes you feel like you’re doing things right and that it’s appreciated.”

The Community & Business Awards are presented each year by the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce, honoring service excellence in categories like public service, tourism and innovation. Nominations are made by the public, a selection committee chooses the three finalists in each category then members of the Chamber determine the winners.

“Our radio station and its manager can already celebrate being named one of the very best businesses and very best business people in the Smithers district,” said Vista Radio Operations Manager Ross Hawse. “We wish them the best of luck at Saturday’s ceremony.”
