Medicine Hat heaps praise on Vista’s new Praise FM

By October 22, 2012News

While many Medicine Hat residents were preparing for the start of another work week, the staff at Vista Radio Medicine Hat were pushing play on a new era of local radio for the people of the Gas City. At 7am Monday, October 15th, Medicine Hat’s local Christian radio station re-launched with a new name, 93-7 Praise FM. With the new name comes new promise to radio listeners… One of Uplifting Radio!

Praise FM is inspirational, upbeat music combined with a focus on relevant, local content, and a brand new local morning show that sees the return of long-time Medicine Hat radio personality, Jeff Michaels.

“I have known the Praise FM General Manager, Warren Osmond, for several years,” said Michaels, “so I was no stranger to him, Warren Affleck , Travis Seavers, Darlene Major and Deb Deans. They welcomed me like one of the family. I had a chance to meet Jason Mann and JD Anderson from Vista Radio a few weeks ago, and I was so impressed with their company and vision! I wasn’t ready to ‘pack in the headphones’ just yet, so I am glad that I can continue my radio career here in Medicine Hat!”

Catch “Jeff Michaels In the Morning” weekdays from 6-10 a.m. Starting at 10 a.m. is “Today’s Family with Beth Warden” followed by “The Drive Home with Warren Osmond” from 2-7 p.m.

“I think the excitement from our listeners at the launch of the station shows residents of Medicine Hat have been waiting for the change Vista has brought to Christian radio in the city,” adds Osmond. “People have been waiting for an upbeat sound and the new 93-7 Praise FM is delivering. The live local morning show with its focus on local events is also important to people here and is a big
step forward in connecting with people in the city. Our goal is to ensure that we’re serving the faith community, but offering a family friendly, uplifting option on the radio dial for ALL Gas City residents.”

The team urges the community to take part on the air and share their stories, opinions and experiences with staff and the Gas City. Reach out to the on-air team in the studio by phone at (403) 529-9565.
